When Can You See 2027 ACA Marketplace Plans and Prices?

If you are already trying to compare health insurance for 2027, HealthCare.gov may still be showing you 2026 plans. That does not mean you are looking in the wrong place.

The federal Marketplace says 2027 plans and estimated prices will become available for preview shortly before Open Enrollment starts November 1. HealthCare.gov has not published a specific advance-preview date, so there is no official October date to circle yet.

You can check the HealthCare.gov plan preview tool now. Until the 2027 data is released, however, the plans shown there may still be for 2026.

What you will be able to see before you enroll

The Marketplace preview tool lets you enter your ZIP code, household size and estimated income without completing a full application. Once 2027 plans are loaded, it should show the plans available in your area along with estimated monthly premiums.

Those estimates can include an estimated premium tax credit based on the basic income and household information you provide. They are useful for comparison, but they are not your final eligibility determination or final premium.

HealthCare.gov says the full Marketplace application asks for more information and produces your exact eligibility results and prices. If you expect your income to change in 2027, it is worth making a realistic annual estimate rather than simply copying this year’s number. Our guide to what counts as income for ACA subsidies in 2027 explains what belongs in that estimate.

Do not compare plans on premium alone

Once the 2027 plans appear, the monthly premium is only the first number to check. HealthCare.gov’s comparison tools can also show plan documents, provider directories and covered-drug information, and allow consumers to search for doctors, hospitals and prescriptions while comparing plans.

That matters because a plan that is $30 cheaper each month can be a poor trade if your doctor is out of network, an important prescription moves to a less favorable tier, or the deductible and other out-of-pocket costs increase substantially.

For anyone renewing an existing Marketplace plan, comparing again is especially important. HealthCare.gov advises consumers that plans and prices can change from year to year, and your own income, household or medical needs may have changed as well.

Your 2026 premium is not a reliable 2027 quote

It is tempting to use the current year’s plan price as a placeholder while waiting for the 2027 preview. That can give you a rough frame of reference, but it should not be treated as a 2027 quote.

Insurers can change premiums, deductibles, provider networks, formularies and even whether a particular plan is offered. Your subsidy can also change because of your expected household income and the Marketplace calculations that apply for the new coverage year.

HealthCare.gov currently notes that consumers looking ahead to 2027 can use existing information only as an initial estimate and should return once the new year’s information becomes available.

What to do while you are waiting for 2027 plans

You do not need to wait for the preview tool to start preparing. Make a list of the doctors, hospitals and prescriptions you want a plan to cover, and estimate your household income for 2027 as accurately as you reasonably can.

If you already have Marketplace coverage, watch for renewal information from both your insurer and the Marketplace. HealthCare.gov says current enrollees should receive information by November 1 explaining whether their existing plan will continue, what changes are being made and what may happen if they take no action.

When should you check again?

If you are looking in early October and still see only 2026 plans, there is probably nothing wrong. HealthCare.gov’s current guidance is simply that 2027 plans and estimated prices will appear shortly before November 1.

As soon as the 2027 preview goes live, that is the better time to begin serious comparison shopping. You can narrow your choices before Open Enrollment opens, then complete the Marketplace application to get your actual subsidy eligibility and final prices when enrollment begins.
